Drug Discount Cards

Overview
Medicare-approved Drug Discount Cards (DDCs) became available in June, 2004 and continued until the prescription drug benefit began.

For People with Low Incomes
Through the DDC program, beneficiaries with incomes below 135% of the poverty level could apply to receive a $600 transitional assistance credit in both 2004 and 2005. Beneficiaries who qualified for the credit are also eligible to receive "wraparound" coverage offered by some drug companies through some DDCs.
